The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) invited candidates from the International Skilled Worker category via two subcategories: Express Entry, and Occupations In-Demand.

The SINP uses the EOI platform to select the candidates who have the maximum potential to succeed in the regional labor market. Candidates will need to demonstrate their devotion to building a lifetime in Saskatchewan by embracing their work experience, education, language ability, age, and relations to the province.

Saskatchewan gives candidates a score out of 100 based on the International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid. The highest-scoring candidates are then issued an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination out of Saskatchewan.

In order to be encouraged in this draw, applicants from sub-categories needed to have submitted Expression of Interest (EOI) profiles together with the SINP. Irrespective of the category, encouraged candidates needed a score of at least 77 beneath the SINP’s EOI points grid.

In late 2020, Saskatchewan made changes to the points system to give more EOI points to folks who can speak English and French.

Express Entry sub-category

In the latest invitation round, Saskatchewan issued 189 invitations to applicants who had profiles at the national Express Entry pool.

The federal Express Entry system manages the pool of candidates for three of Canada’s main economic-class immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Expertise Class.

Express Entry candidates who apply and receive a provincial nomination in the state of Saskatchewan are given an extra 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.

This also applies to all of Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs that are coordinated with Express Entry.

Occupations In-Demand sub-category

The Occupations In-Demand sub-category is available to immigration candidates who don’t have a national Express Entrance profile. This app is for immigration candidates who have work experience in jobs that have labor shortages in Saskatchewan.

There were 313 Occupations In-Demand candidates invited to submit an application for a provincial nomination.
