What is Australia’s Skilled Occupation list?
The skilled occupation list of Australia 2023-24 is the list of in demand skilled jobs in Australia. This list is issued and updated frequently to invite the right applicant into the country.
The list of vocations was most recently updated by the Australian Ministry of Home Affairs. The updated list pertains to the skilled immigration scheme. The talents list of the Australian government comprises three categories:
- Short Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL)
There are around 215 jobs on the Short-term Skilled Occupation List. These professions are in demand throughout Australia’s territory. Previously known as the Consolidated Sponsored Occupation List, this list (CSOL). The following visas are available under the STSOL programme:
Skilled Nominated Visa Subclass 190
Direct Entry through Employer Nomination Scheme Subclass 186 Visa
Visa Subclass 457 for Temporary Workers
Training Subclass 407 Visas

2. Medium and Long Term Strategic Skill List (MLTSSL)
Australia’s skilled immigration programme will use the list of strategic talents. You can immigrate to Australia using Visa Subclass 189 regardless of whether your employer or the government is sponsoring you. The Skilled Occupation List (SOL) was the previous name for this initiative, which promotes the immigration of skilled workers in various industries.

Immigration programmes for Australia Skilled immigration

Eligibility for Australia Skilled Independent Visa
On the evaluation grid, you must receive more than 65 out of 100 points. Points are given based on your:
- Age: To apply for this programme, you must be between the ages of 18 and 45.
- Education: If you have a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate, the authorities will favour you.

Steps to Apply for Australia Skilled Migration
Step 1: Evaluation
Accrediting organisation decides whether your occupation satisfies Australian requirements based on your occupation type, educational background, and work experience. You get a letter of accreditation after being accepted. Different accreditation agencies exist for many professions. The decision might come to you in two to three months.
Step 2: English language testing
In order to pass the IELTS exam, you must receive a minimum score of 6 out of 9. This applies to speaking, reading, writing, and listening.
Step 3: EOI and ITA

Step 5: Apply for a visa online
Your application must be accompanied by certified copies of all of your educational, employment, and other official records.
Step 6: Police clearance and medical certificate
Only have a medical exam performed by a local physician who is on the Australian Embassy’s list of registered physicians. A police certificate clearance confirming that you have resided in the nation for a total of 12 months over the last ten years will also be required of you.
