Step-by-Step Australia PR Visa Process for Indians
The following information explains the Step-by-step Australia PR Visa process for Indians.
Step 1: Determine your Eligibility
The first step in the PR Visa is understanding the Australia PR Visa Requirements and determining your eligibility. It includes:
• Points Test: Australia has points-based skilled migration visas. Points are obtained according to the applicant's age, educational background, years of experience, and knowledge of a specific language. The requirement is 65 points or above.
• Skilled Occupation Lists: Your occupation needs to be on Australia's Skilled Occupation Lists, including the Medium- and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) or Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL).
Step 2: Take English Language Test
English Language Proficiency is one of the crucial requirements of an Australian PR Visa. Therefore, Candidates must undergo some or other of these tests: IELTS, PTE, or TOEFL. A candidate must achieve a minimum score of 6.0 in all the bands of IELTS; however, more marks are rewarded in terms of higher scores.
Step 3: Skill Assessment
A positive skill assessment from a recognised assessing authority is also crucial. Each occupation has a different assessing authority: ACS for IT professionals and EA for engineers. The assessment ensures that your skills and working experience are appropriate to the evaluations of Australia.
Step 4: Submit an EOI(Expression of Interest)
You must submit an Expression of Interest through the Department of Home Affairs’s skill select platform. The Expression of Interest consists of all information about your skills, qualifications, and your intended visa application. Under this, your points automatically get calculated.
The EOI (Expression of Interest) will be ranked based on the points. So, the candidate with higher points will have a higher chance of receiving the ITA.
Step 5: Get an ITA(Invitation to Apply)
Once you have lodged your EOI, the Department of Home Affairs invites the highest-scoring individuals to apply for PR. Invitations are issued during standard periods of SkillSelect rounds and must be followed by submitting the visa application within 60 days from the invitation date.
Step 6: Collect Needed Documents
Collect all the required documents needed for your visa application:
1. Valid passport
2. Skills assessment result
3. English language test result
4. Work experience letters
5. Educational certificates
6. Proof of financial stability
