Latest Express Entry Draw: In-depth Analysis

The latest round of invitation marks to be the first draw under the redesigned Transportation category, which was relaunched in February 2026 with a new occupation list and the 4th Transport draw overall since category-based selection began in 2023.

The reintroduction of the Transport category also demonstrates IRCC’s continuous efforts to address critical labour shortages by prioritizing professionals with experience in occupations that are essential to Canada’s economy and transportation infrastructure.

At a CRS score of 470 and 300 ITAs, the latest round of invitations highlights Canada’s continued focus on attracting skilled professionals in occupations facing labour shortages. This also focuses on offering transportation professionals an opportunity to immigrate through a category based Express Entry draw, rather than rely solely on Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC), two of the prominent Express Entry pathways.

At CRS 470, this draw sets the highest cutoff ever recorded for Transport occupations, 35 points above the CRS 435 seen in the last draw, reflecting a more competitive pool of transport-eligible candidates in 2026.

With the latest Express Entry draw, IRCC has now conducted a total 46 Express Entry selections and issued 113,423 ITAs in 2026. Though a significant number of invitations are already being issued thus far in the first half of 2026, it is expected from the Canadian immigration department to issue further draws in the coming weeks of August and later months of the year.
