Quebec is the only province that has full autonomy on its immigration. That is why they have their different requirements and can nominate the right immigration candidate to live as a permanent resident in the province. Quebec is a French-speaking province and is a prime destination for all immigrants all over the world. Residents of Quebec are provided with a high standard of life and new opportunities for career growth. A healthy society with diverse communities and rated as one of the most highly rated among the immigrants makes Quebec the perfect choice for anyone who is looking to move to Canada.

What is the process for Quebec Immigration?

You can apply for permanent residency in Quebec through an immigration program known as Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP).  This program allows the province to nominate skilled immigrants with in-demand skills to settle in the province as permanent residents and help in the economic development. Also, this immigration program helps the province to fill the gap of skilled labor in the local labor market.

To apply for Canada PR Visa in Quebec, you have just followed two simple steps:

Step 1: The first step, for the immigrants, is to apply for the Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ). For this, they have to submit their application and credentials to the Quebec immigration office (MIDI) where they will be evaluated based on their requirements and eligibility criteria. On the success of the application, immigrants will be issued the CSQ. CSQ represents that the candidate has been selected by the Quebec immigration office to live and work in the province.

Step 2: The second step is to then apply for a permanent residence visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Candidates will require submitting their application for a PR visa with the CSQ certificate they have required from the Quebec Immigration Office.

Quebec’s provincial authorities have a special agreement with the Government of Canada. This allows them to nominate the immigrants that can easily adapt to the daily life of the province and work there.

How to calculate points for Quebec Immigration?

QSWP is a point-based program where scores are assigned to the candidates based on selection factors like Training, Work experience, etc. For a single applicant to be eligible to apply under QSWP they have to score at least 50 points. In case you are applying with a spouse or common-law partner, you need to get at least 59 points. You can know your Quebec points with the help of a simple tool – Quebec Points Calculator.
