Express Entry candidates who received a provincial nomination were invited to apply for permanent residence

Canada encouraged 671 Express Entry applicants to send in their applications for permanent residence on March 8. Latest Canada express entry draw 2021 invites pnp candidates .

Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited candidates that had a minimum score of 739. This score requirement looks high, but that is because everyone encouraged had formerly received a nomination from a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

Express Entry applicants that get a provincial nomination are automatically given 600 points on top of their original human capital score. Meaning people who had the minimum score of 739, needed a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) rating of 139 with no provincial nomination.

“Provincial nominees have demonstrated that they’ll benefit provincial labor markets,” explained Attorney David Cohen, Senior Partner of Campbell Cohen. “In turn, provinces support their Express Entry program with a award that ensures they’ll be encouraged to apply for permanent residence.”

Candidates who had the minimum score of 739 were only included if they filed their Express Entry profile before February 16, 2021 in 19:10:25 UTC, in accordance with the tie-break rule.

So far this season, Canada has issued 38,657 Invitations to Apply (ITA). This is more than three times larger than the number of ITAs which IRCC issued in precisely the same time this past year. Due to the low numbers of new immigrants declared in 2020, Canada has set the ambitious target of welcoming 401,00 newcomers in 2021. Most of them are allocated to come through the Express Entry system.

The majority of these invitations came out when IRCC issued 27,332 ITAs in the last draw on Saturday, February 13. This isn’t merely the biggest Express Entrance draw , but it also had a historically low CRS need of 75. Latest Canada express entry draw 2021 invites pnp candidates .

It is uncommon to see draws occur more than two weeks apart. Today’s draw comes 22 days after the Saturday attraction when each candidate in the pool who was eligible for the Canadian Expertise Course was encouraged to make an application for permanent residence.

How does Express Entry work?

Express Entry Is Currently Canada’s Program management system for three federal immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.

Candidates in these programs, in addition to some PNPs, are given a score based on the CRS.

The points may be awarded to an individual or a couple. They do not require a job offer, but it may provide them some additional points. It is not essential to have worked or studied in Canada, though throughout the pandemic IRCC is prioritizing candidates that are already in the country.

The highest-scoring applicants receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence through routine Express Entry rounds of invitation. After an application was submitted, IRCC will make a final decision and send a Confirmation of Permanent Residence should they accept the program. The last step for authorized permanent residents is to repay in Canada and apply for a PR Card. At this phase, such people are officially Canadian permanent residents and may eventually apply for citizenship.
