Service Canada to offer biometrics scheduling online beginning Monday

IRCC clients can begin to schedule their biometrics appointments online as of Monday November 30, 2020.
Starting Monday November 30, 2020, the Service Canada appointment program for scheduling biometrics appointments will resume service. Canada to offering biometrics online.
This will make it possible for clients of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to reserve their own biometrics appointments online which ought to be more efficient.
Service Canada officers started calling IRCC customers to program biometrics appointments from mid-September.
However, effective this coming Monday, customers who have not yet been contacted must utilize the online scheduling tool to book their biometrics appointment, as noted in their biometrics instruction letter.
IRCC states in its news release that clients should reserve their appointment in the Service Canada office nearest to them. Canada to offering biometrics online.
Walk-in service isn’t available so just those with appointments will have the ability to submit their biometrics in Service Canada locations.
Applicants for permanent residence who haven’t filed biometrics within the previous ten years will need a consultation to meet the biometrics component of the immigration application processing.
IRCC also notes biometrics exemptions are still in effect for temporary residence applicants in Canada, also permanent residence applicants who submitted their own biometrics in the previous 10 years.
