First category-based Express Entry draw for agriculture Occupation

In the first-ever category-based Express Entry draw for vocations in agriculture and agri-food, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has sent out 600 invitations to apply (ITAs).  

The needed Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for applicants was 354. In the first-ever category-based Express Entry draw for vocations in agriculture and agri-food, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has sent out 600 invitations to apply (ITAs).  

Focusing on applicants with industry expertise, such as agricultural service contractors, farm supervisors, and retail and wholesale butchers, according to IRCC, will aid the industry in attracting the qualified people it needs across the nation. 

In 2022, Canada’s agriculture and agri-food sector exported food and agricultural goods worth close to $92.8 billion to other countries. 

This was the third Express Entry Draw of the week. 500 applicants with a minimum CRS of 472 were invited from the French-speaking proficiency category on September 27.  

With a minimum CRS of 504, 3,000 applicants were invited to an all-program draw on September 26.
