Ontario, British Columbia, and Manitoba Invite candidates In This week's PNP results

This week, three Canadian provinces submitted individuals for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

Because the federal and provincial governments share immigration, provinces can choose economic immigration candidates who they believe would fit in well with the local economy and labor force. A nomination strengthens a candidate's application for permanent residency to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Provinces are given a set number of nominations from which to invite candidates. The number of nominations assigned to a province is determined by variables like as population, local economy, accessible settlement assistance for newcomers, and others.

Except for Nunavut and Quebec, all Canadian provinces and territories have PNPs. Quebec has a unique deal with the federal government that allows it to choose all its economic immigrants rather than just a certain number.

    Ontario

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) staged three different drawings for candidates in the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream.

While all candidates were in the same pool, the three draws focused on distinct

characteristics. The greatest attraction was for 1,663 applicants with a minimum score of 43 in healthcare and STEM jobs.

Candidates in skilled crafts occupations were also attracted. The province welcomed 761 individuals with a minimum score of 34 for these vocations.

The Economic Mobility Pathways Project (EMPP) final draw targeted 13 individuals. There was no minimum score requirement. The EMPP is a program that allows talented refugees and other displaced individuals to move to Canada.
