How can BC PNP points be calculated in 2026 through the BC PNP calculator?
Eligible applicants applying under the BC PNP program will be assessed under the following structured parameters:
- 1. Directly Related Work Experience
Applicants are assessed on the number of years of work experience directly related to the occupation of their B.C. job offer, with additional points for at least 1 year of directly related experience gained in Canada.
- 2. Highest Level of Education
Points are awarded based on the applicant's highest completed level of education, with additional points if that education was completed in B.C. or elsewhere in Canada, and further points for an eligible professional designation in B.C.
- 3. Language Proficiency in English or French
Applicants are scored on their Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level, with additional points awarded for demonstrated proficiency in both English and French.
- 4. Hourly Wage of the B.C. Job Offer
The hourly wage offered under the B.C. job offer plays a direct role in the score — higher hourly wages correspond to higher points, up to a maximum for wages of $70 CAD and above.
- 5. Area of Employment Within B.C.
Points vary depending on where in British Columbia the applicant will be working, with additional points for regional experience or being a regional alumni.
Applicants applying under the BC PNP program can score a maximum of 200 points across Human Capital Factors (up to 120 points) and Economic Factors (up to 80 points).
