Interestingly, IRCC conducted back-to-back Express Entry draws, inviting over 2,000 skilled and competent professionals under the Provincial Nominee Program and Canadian Experience Class program category. 

In the last week of April, IRCC issued consecutive draws inviting applicants to address its labour shortage needs while prioritizing candidates with relevant skills and Canadian work experience. Over the past few years, Canada has continued to face labour shortage and through these targeted invitations, the country not only strengthens its workforce and economy but also offers an opportunity to secure Canada permanent residency

Latest Express Entry Draws

In the latest Express Entry draws, Canada conducted two consecutive draws, inviting candidates through the PNP and CEC program. A total of 2,473 ITAs were issued, 473 ITAs under the PNP program and 2,000 ITAs under the CEC category. Here is a clear representation of Express Entry draws conducted in the last week of April.

The latest PNP draw, conducted on April 27, 2026, invited 473 candidates with a CRS score of 795. The invitations were issued to skilled workers who wish to settle in the provinces of Canada, reflecting Canada’s continued focus on selecting skilled professionals who are aligned with the province's labour needs. Latest CEC Draw 

The latest CEC draw, issued on April 28, 2026, invited a total of 2,000 ITAs with a CRS score of 514. The latest CEC draw specifically invited candidates with Canadian work experience who can actively contribute to their workforce and economy. The key highlights for the CEC draw is as follows:

Express Entry Draw: Analysis 

With a mere 473 ITAs and a CRS score of 795 under the PNP program, the latest PNP draw marks the ninth draw in the category, whereas with 2,000 ITAs and a CRS score of 514, the CEC category draw marks the eighth draw of the year 2026. With a total of 67,627 ITAs thus far, the last draw was conducted to be the twenty-fifth selection of the year 2026. Express Entry draws this year have seen a shift towards candidates with skills and Canadian work experience to be prioritized over mere skills and educational qualifications and no foreign work experience.
