In a significant step towards strengthening immigration and cultural exchange between India and Australia, Australia has opened its registration for the Australia Lottery Visa 2026 or the Australia Work and Holiday Visa Program for Indian nationals for the year 2026 – 2027. 

For the year 2026–2027, Australia has opened this year's registration for 3 weeks and will begin its registration process from June 4, 2026, to June 25, 2026. 

With an annual cap of 1,000 professionals from India, the program offers young professionals an opportunity to stay, travel, and work in the country for up to one year.

What is the Australia Work and Holiday Visa Program?

Australia Work and Holiday Visa Program (Visa 462 Australia) or Australia Lottery Visa is a unique mobility program which enables foreign nationals to immigrate, work while they are on a holiday and gain international experience.

This Working Holiday Maker (WHM) program allows professionals from partner countries to participate in a process where professionals can stay and work in a country for a period of 12 months.

With partner countries such as China, India and Vietnam, this visa process selects professionals in a transparent, fair and streamlined manner.

●    an immiaccount

●    be between 18 to 30 years of age (at the time of registration)

●    hold a valid passport from the partner countries

●    hold a valid national identity card issued by an eligible ballot participating country

●    have a valid email address

●    have not applied this visa before

●    must have completed at least 2 years of post-secondary education

●    must have at least functional English

●    have enough money at least AUD 5,000 to support yourself in the country

●    meet health and character requirements

●    must be outside of Australia (at the time of application)
