Alberta Invites More than 1,500 Skilled Workers in the Latest AAIP Draw

Amid increasing demand of skilled workers and shortage of labour among various sectors in the province, Alberta has invited more than 1,500 skilled professionals in the latest AAIP (Alberta Advantage Immigration Program) draw under the Alberta PNP program

Seven draws, held between May 20, 2026 to June 2, 2026, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) invited skilled workers under several in-demand sectors, including manufacturing, technology, agriculture, and construction. With a total of 43 provincial immigration draws in 2026 thus far, Alberta has invited approximately 2,587 skilled workers across various employment sectors. With these invitations, the province provides skilled workers an opportunity to become permanent residents of Canada

Alberta PNP Latest Draw

In a span of three weeks, Alberta has issued seven draws, inviting a total of 1,550 skilled workers under three streams with the majority of invitations under Alberta Opportunity Stream, approximately 64.1% of the total invitations. AAIP: Draw Analysis

The latest PNP draw, invited skilled workers under seven different streams, with maximum invitations under the Alberta Opportunity Stream and the least number of invitations under the priority sector (manufacturing stream). 

First Time Invitations

It has been noteworthy that the priority sector (construction and skilled trade) stream has been considered as the first draw specifically under this stream. Some of these invitation streams have been considered the largest of their kind including May 29 Express Entry Accelerated Tech Round, May 27 Alberta Opportunity Stream, May 22 Agriculture and May 21 Manufacturing under the Express Entry Priority sector pathway. 

Additional Federal Spaces

Apart from these nomination spaces remaining, there have been additional federal spaces left out for physicians and francophones. Up to 10,000 additional immigration spaces have been available across  all provincial nominee programs for provinces and territories to nominate practice-ready physicians or francophones.

Why Does AAIP Draws Matter ?

The latest AAIP draw highlights Alberta’s continued focus on addressing labour shortage of skilled professionals in key economic sectors. With a total of 1,550 draws in the latest round of invitations, approximately 3,816 nomination spaces are still available across various pathways and sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, construction and technology.

Given the large number of nomination spaces still available under various streams such as Alberta Opportunity Stream, Priority Sector Draws, Healthcare pathways, and Accelerated Tech pathways, Alberta is expected to conduct regular invitations throughout 2026. 

Alberta Opportunity Stream has been considered the most reliable pathway for professionals from India as it provides a direct route to permanent residency. This pathway is particularly attractive amongst Indians due to its employer driven approach, relatively straightforward requirements. With 2,031 remaining nomination slots, Alberta aims to attract professionals under Alberta Opportunity Stream, giving way to skilled workers from India an opportunity to immigrate to Alberta, Canada. 

Lastly, the latest round of invitations under the AAIP program, depicts Alberta aims to attract professionals across different sectors. This initiative by Alberta helped the equal distribution of workers in parts of the province thus reaching its economic goals.
