Why Does AAIP Draws Matter ?

The latest AAIP draw highlights Alberta’s continued focus on addressing labour shortage of skilled professionals in key economic sectors. With a total of 1,550 draws in the latest round of invitations, approximately 3,816 nomination spaces are still available across various pathways and sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, construction and technology.

Given the large number of nomination spaces still available under various streams such as Alberta Opportunity Stream, Priority Sector Draws, Healthcare pathways, and Accelerated Tech pathways, Alberta is expected to conduct regular invitations throughout 2026.

Alberta Opportunity Stream has been considered the most reliable pathway for professionals from India as it provides a direct route to permanent residency. This pathway is particularly attractive amongst Indians due to its employer driven approach, relatively straightforward requirements. With 2,031 remaining nomination slots, Alberta aims to attract professionals under Alberta Opportunity Stream, giving way to skilled workers from India an opportunity to immigrate to Alberta, Canada.

Lastly, the latest round of invitations under the AAIP program, depicts Alberta aims to attract professionals across different sectors.
