Alberta Invites more than 1,000 Invitations with Four AAIP Draws
Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) announced its latest Alberta PNP immigration draws held between January 26 and February 2, 2026. The latest Alberta PNP draws are considered a dedicated pathway to become permanent residents of Canada.
AAIP invited 1,169 invitations across four draws under its various stream as:
❖ Dedicated Healthcare Pathways (Express Entry and non-Express Entry)
❖ The Alberta Express Entry Stream’s Accelerated Tech Pathways
❖ The Alberta Opportunity Stream
Alberta PNP Latest Draws
The Alberta latest PNP draws were announced within one week, inviting more than 1,100 invitations under their designated streams. The AAIP draw held on February 2, 206 is considered to be the largest among all the draws in 2026, inviting 915 invitations under Alberta Opportunity Stream, accounting 75% of invitations issued on its own. Within these AAIP draws, the lowest cut-off scores of 45, on January 27, recorded under these draws for non-Express Entry pathway for Dedicated Healthcare category.
Factors Affecting AAIP Draws in 2026
According to the latest trends followed in the AAIP draws, Alberta will prioritise occupations tied to healthcare, technology, construction, manufacturing, aviation, agriculture, as well as communities designated under the Rural Renewal Stream. However, Alberta also emphasis that the draws are not scheduled and these factors are not the deciding factors, it may include some other factors such as:
❖ Work experience in a priority occupation;
❖ Working as a licensed physician in Alberta; or
❖ Being a francophone newcomer looking to immigrate to the province.
Alberta reports a total of 405 invitations issued with allocated 6,403 invitations, with remaining 5,964 spaces as of February 5, 2026. According to the Alberta official statements, the Federal Government of Canada has also retained several extra immigration spots up to 10,000 for two groups in all the provinces. The extra immigration spots for two major groups are as follows:
❖ Practice-ready physicians
❖ Francophones communities
According to Canada's Immigration level plan 2026-2028, Canada is planning to increase its permanent residency allocation from 55,000 to 91,500, an increase of 67% of the earlier set targets.
