➔  Single entry Visa – single entry visa allows travellers to enter the Schengen area once and stay for not more than 90 days during their 180 days period. 

➔  Multiple entry Visa – multiple entry visa allows travellers to enter the Schengen area multiple times for as long as the visa is valid and stay for not more than 90 days during their 180 days period. 

❖  Airport Transit Visa: Other of the two forms, an Airport transit visa allows travellers to connect through the international transit area of an airport in the Schengen area during a stopover or a change of flights. With this visa, eligible travellers cannot leave the international transit area.

Where to Apply for a Schengen Visa from India?

Indian travellers applying for a Schengen Visa must submit their application to the consulate, embassy or nearest authorized visa application center of the appropriate Schengen country. The country where an applicant is applying is completely dependent upon the number of countries, he wish to travel which is explained as below: 

❖  Visiting more than 1 Schengen countries: apply at the consulate of the country where the applicant wishes to spend the longest time.

❖  Visiting several Schengen countries (for stays of equal length): apply at the consulate of the first country the applicant visits.

How Long Does the Schengen Visa Application Take to Process ?

The normal processing time for a Schengen visa application from India is 15 days. However, this time can be extended up to 30 days when further examination is required, or up to 60 days in exceptional cases where additional documents are requested.

Step 2: Choose the Appropriate Visa Type
