Settling abroad always demands one’s understanding of the native language, as it helps in understanding a migrant country’s culture and its people. Australian immigration is an effortless and smooth process, making it the most immigrant-friendly nation across the globe. The Australian immigration department of Home Affairs accepts applications based on certain factors such as 65 points on the point assessment grid, skill assessment, English language proficiency test score and selected occupation on the Australian Occupation List.
English language proficiency test score threshold has recently increased for Competent, Proficient and Superior level required for Australian immigration, effective from August 7, 2025.
Australian Immigration will now accept an updated version of the English language test score applicable for applicants applying on or after August 7, 2025. However, the changes will not affect the test scores taken before August 6, 2025, and even the results may be valid for up to 3 years.
