    Province Immigration

    Date Published

According to the most recent provincial immigration statistics, candidates have been invited to six Canadian provinces.

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) are run by every province and territory in Canada, with the exception of Quebec and Nunavut. Given both the federal and provincial governments share responsibility for immigration, provinces are free to select individuals based on their economic priorities.

The distinctive aspect of Quebec’s arrangement with the federal government is that the province has complete discretion over the choice and quantity of economic immigrants admitted for permanent residence. This is due in part to Quebec’s status as the only province in Canada with French as the first official language, which is why it is regarded as having a unique society.

    Ontario

This week, Ontario invited applicants for the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).

1,696 notices of interest (NOIs) were sent to PNP applicants in Ontario on September 26 from the Express Entry Human Capital Priorities stream. It was specifically designed for medical professionals with a minimum score between 350 and 462 points.

NOIs were issued to candidates in the following professions:

    1. NOC 31102 – General practitioners and family physicians
    2. NOC 31300 – Nursing coordinators and supervisors
    3. NOC 31301 – Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses
    4. NOC 32101 – Licensed practical nurses
    5. NOC 33102 – Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates

    British Columbia

In its weekly draw, British Columbia invited more than 204 PNP candidates.

On September 26, the province hosted four targeted lotteries for candidates for the Skilled Worker and International Graduate programs (including Express Entry applicants).

Candidates in the IT industry attracted the most attention. A score of 90 on the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) was the minimal requirement.

Invitations to early childhood educators and assistants (49) and healthcare professionals (28) were made for the final three draws. In other priority occupations, the provincial also invited less than five applicants. All three draws required candidates to have a minimum SIRS score of 60.

    Quebec

Following the most recent Arrima draw results, Quebec invited 1,018 Regular Skilled Worker candidates to apply for permanent selection.

The draw was specifically aimed at people in a range of professions, including tech, healthcare, and teaching.

Candidates needed to obtain 579 points on the Échelle québécoise des niveaux de compétence en français des personnes immigrantes adultes, or its equivalent, and have oral proficiency in French at level 7 or higher to be considered.

    Manitoba

On September 28, Manitoba held an unusual drawing. In a deliberate recruitment draw, the province welcomed 1,072 applicants under the Skilled Workers Overseas category.

According to the province, it gave consideration to applicants who stated they were employed in a regulated field and have a valid Manitoba work permit. Additionally, it states that applicants who have received an invitation to apply to the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) as part of a Strategic Recruitment Initiative were not taken into account for this draw.

    Alberta

The Dedicated Healthcare Pathway in Alberta accepted 18 Express Entry candidates through a draw on September 26 in exchange for an offer of employment there.

Candidates in this draw had to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 311 in order to be taken into consideration. They were also eligible to apply through the federal Express Entry system.

16 individuals were invited to the most recent draw for qualified healthcare candidates. According to Alberta, 1,462 invites will be given out to applicants in this stream in 2023.

    New Brunswick

The August Express Entry program results for New Brunswick have been made public. Typically, the province discloses all of the draw results for the month at once.

Through three different PNP programs, the province invited 175 Express Entry candidates in August. The number of invites sent out in this draw was roughly 90 less than it was in July. The outcomes for August are as follows:

    1. 58 through the New Brunswick Employment Connection.
    2. 130 through the New Brunswick Student Connection.
    3. 71 through the New Brunswick Occupation-In-Demand Connection.
