The second Express Entry a draw of the week has been held by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
In a category-based selection draw, the department issued 1,000 invitations to apply (ITAS) to candidates with French language competency.
Candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 470 to be considered.
The draw for today is the second of the week. On December 6, IRCC held an all-program draw and invited 4,750 applicants with a CRS score 561.
The draw held yesterday was the first in more than a month. The last draw, held on October 26, allowed 3,600 applicants with a CRS score of 431 to participa in a category-based selection draw for healthcare vocations.
Candidates who earned ITAS in recent drawings could not upload their final application to the Express Entry profile builder on November 14, according to IRCC. A follow-up tweet two days later said that the issue had been rectified, but no reason for the lengthier halt was given.
Provinces are given a set number of nominations from which to invite candidates. The number of nominations assigned to a province is determine.
