    1. Germany study visa requirements for Indians

    General German student visa requirements for Indian students are listed below:

    • Valid passport (not more than 10 years old and valid for another 12 months after your proposed stay)
    • Signed and fill the visa application form
    • Current passport-sized biometric photos
    • University admission letter from a recognised German university
    • Documentation of financial means (€11,208 per annum in a blocked account)
    • Documentation of health insurance cover 
    • Academic records and certificates
    • Statement of purpose (Motivation Letter)
    • Documentation of language competence (German or English, according to your course)
    • Receipt for payment of the visa application fee (€75)
    • Documentation of accommodation in Germany. 
    1. Open a blocked account

    One of Germany's most critical student visa requirements is proof of means. You must prove that you can financially sustain yourself throughout your stay in Germany. This is usually done by opening a blocked account (Sperrkonto) at a German bank. Steps to open a blocked account includes:

    • Select a provider like Deutsche Bank, Expatrio, Fintiba, or Coracle.

    • Pay the amount required (€11,208 for one year).
    • Get confirmation for the same, which you will require for your visa application.
    1. Get health insurance

    Health insurance is compulsory for all international students in Germany. You must present proof of health insurance coverage when applying for your student visa.

    • Public Health Insurance: For students under 30 and enrolled in degree programs (e.g., TK, AOK, Barmer).
    • Private Health Insurance: For students over 30 or those following preparatory courses.
