Express Entry: Canada continues its pattern of holding a CEC-specific draw after having a PNP draw.
Canada held the following Express Entry round of invitations on August 20.
The latest Express Entry draw was the second one in 2 days along with the 161st total held by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).Today’s CRS cut-off score was nine points higher compared to past CEC-specific draw July 23, which had a CRS cut-off rating of 445. The boost in points is because of more candidates being entered into the pool over the last month later Canada held an all-program draw August 5.

IRCC has held these program-specific draws since the coronavirus pandemic caused Canada’s boundary to close in March. They’ve all taken place following Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)-special draws, along with the amount of ITAs from the two draws combined add up to a round number.Yesterday, IRCC held a program-specific draw with 600 PNP applicants receiving ITAs.
Express Entry is a method which the federal government uses to handle software for Canada’s three main economic-class programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and the Canadian Experience Course (CEC).
Some states have provincial programs that are aligned using the Express Entry program.
In the Express Entry system, candidates are ranked based on their own CRS score that considers multiple factors such as their age, work experience, education and competence in French or English. In some cases, the date and time where the Express Entry profile was created is also a ranking element.Candidates who wish to submit their Express Entry profile may nevertheless do so despite any coronavirus-related limitations in place. IRCC continues to accept submissions into the Express Entry system and also to process applications for permanent residence.
