British Columbia issues 407 invitations in new PNP draw
British Columbia has invited over 6,000 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination so far this year.
British Columbia invited 407 immigration candidates via a provincial nominee program draw held on September 15, 2020. British Columbia new PNP draw invites immigrants.
The new invitations went to candidates by the Skills Immigration (SI) and Express Entry BC (EEBC) flows, namely the Skilled Worker, International Graduate in Addition to the Entry Level and Semi-Skilled categories.
The minimum scores for this draw ranged between 75 and 95 points.
The EEBC class is for candidates with a valid profile in the federal administration’s Express Entry platform, which will be Canada’s main pathway for skilled immigrants who hope to obtain Canadian permanent residence.
The SI class is for proficient and semi-skilled employees whose occupations are in high demand in the state of B.C.
Candidates with the highest scores are then invited to apply for a provincial nomination when BC holds another one of its frequent draws.
Categories which are handled under the SIRS require candidates to have a job offer from a company in BC.
Express Entry is the national government’s application management system.
Candidates invited below the EEBC: Skilled Worker and EEBC: International Graduate classes, can get an additional 600 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and also an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in a later federal Express Entry draw if they’re effective with their nomination.
Express Entry brings continue to be held on a bi-weekly foundation despite present border closures and travel restrictions. In fact, the latest Express Entrance draw, held earlier today, resulted in 4,200 invitations to apply for permanent home — the second-largest round of invitations since the system’s launch in 2015. So far this year, IRCC has issued 74,150 ITAs and has stated that it will continue to make efforts to welcome high levels of new immigrants from the forthcoming years and beyond.
The province of B.C. holds weekly attractions, and with the preceding one having happened on September 8. In total so far this calendar year, B.C. invited over 6,000 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination through regular PNP and Tech Pilot draws.
Tech Pilot candidates are exempt from the permanent, fulltime job offer requirement that applies to many immigration categories below the BC PNP. However, Tech Pilot candidates must establish a job offer that’s at least one year in length and contains at least 120 calendar days remaining in the time they apply for a provincial nomination.
