The points tested stream you must be 

  1. Under the age of 45
  2. occupation must be on the MLTSSL list 
  3. Must have a minimum of 65 points 
  4. Health and character requirement 
  5. You do not need a sponsor or nominator 
  6. After receiving an invitation to apply (ITA) you must submit an expression of interest (EOI) 
  7. Processing time varies between 82 days to 3 months

The New Zealand stream is for the citizens of New Zealand who have shown contribution and commitment to Australia to live and work in Australia permanently. 

The Hong Kong stream lets eligible Hong Kong or British overseas passport holders who have shown contribution to Australia to live and work in Australia permanently.  One must hold a Hong Kong passport or a British National (overseas) passport. 

The processing time may vary based on individual profiles. Whether you have submitted the profile with all the necessary information or how early you respond to the request to submit additional information or how long it takes for external verification regarding your profile. 

Another visa type is Skilled nominated visa subclass (190) 

It is a Permanent residence visa for skilled workers who have received a nomination from the state or territory and want to live and work in Australia. 

  1. The age must be under 45
  2. Your occupation must be relevant to the Medium and long term strategic skilled list (MLTSSL) or short-term skilled occupation list (STSOL) or Regional occupation List (ROL) 
  3. Must have Competent English 
  4. Must obtain minimum points on the points test at the time of invitation to apply for a visa.
  5. You must submit the expression of interest (EOI) after receiving an ITA 
  6. You must meet the health and character requirements. 

SKILLED WORK REGIONAL VISA (SUBCLASS 491) 

This visa category intends migrants who have a nomination from a state or territory or have a family member in Australia who can sponsor them. This visa will allow you to live, study and work in Australia for up to 5 years, but after 3 years you will be eligible for a Permanent subclass (191) 

  1. Your age must be under 45 years
  2. Your occupation must be listed in  Medium and long term strategic skilled list (MLTSSL) or short-term skilled occupation list (STSOL) 
  3. Must have Competent English 
  4. Must obtain minimum points on the points test at the time of invitation to apply for a visa.
  5. You must submit the expression of interest (EOI) after receiving an ITA 
  6. You must meet the health and character requirements. 

In the Australian point system you need to score a minimum 65 points. The points will be given on the basis of your age, education (three years diploma), work experience (inside or outside Australia), English language ability, accredited in community language and partner’s skills.
