There are six categories that IRCC has selected for Canada’s Express Entry category-based selection in 2024.
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) occupations
There are a total of 24 STEM Occupations.
Eligibility:
- Minimum 6 months of work experience within the last 3 years of applying to STEM occupation.
- Gained experience in Canada.
Healthcare occupations
There are a total of 35 Healthcare Occupations.
Eligibility:
- Minimum 6 months of continuous work experience within the last 3 years of applying to a Healthcare Occupation
- Gained experience in Canada.
Trade Occupations
There are a total of 10 Trade Occupations.
Eligibility:
- Minimum 6 months of continuous work experience within the last 3 years of applying to a Trade Occupation
- Gained experience in Canada.
Transport Occupations
There are a total of 10 Transport Occupations.
Eligibility:
- Minimum 6 months of continuous work experience within the last 3 years of applying to a Trade Occupation
- Gained experience in Canada.
Agriculture and agri-food occupation
There are a total of 3 Agricultural and Agri-food Occupations.
Eligibility:
- Minimum 6 months of continuous work experience within the last 3 years of applying to an Agricultural and Agri-food Occupation
- Gained experience in Canada.
French-language proficiency
Eligibility:
A minimum score of CLB 7 in all 4 abilities on either –
- TEF Canada: Test d’évaluation de français
- TCF Canada: Test de connaissance du français.
